Tokyo has a relatively high figure of bicycle modal split despite lacking dedicated bike paths like what Netherlands have. One component that makes this possible in suburban areas is nearly car-free network of living streets, practically working as fietsstraten. I compiled some photos I have taken around Tokyo to show you what these frequently-overlooked streets look like.
